The Student Leadership Team's Halloween activities were a great success! The morning started with a costume judging contest. The winners were Brayden Starr (funniest), Rachel Corrigan (scariest), Madison Hourd (fanciest), Zach Faber (traditional) and Logan (unique). The entire student body met in the gym and participated in a photograph challenge. Lunch hour was busy with pumpkin carving, "apple" bobbing, monster parts, and balloon shaving. The hallway was buzzing with students having a great time participating in the SLT activities.

SGI instigated a seatbelt challenge this past spring and fall. The SADD group conducted a seatbelt survey in Carlyle in April and then another survey in September. Our town saw an increase of 9% of seatbelt use from the first survey to the second survey. Carnduff, who was the winner of the challenge, saw an increase of 50%. Their community won a monetary sum to put towards traffic safety improvements. Seatbelts save lives! On behalf of the SADD group at GFK, please wear yours.
