Gordon F. Kells High School Cougar Corner

We recently leased a van to help transport our kids (sporting events, work experience locations, theatre productions, etc). In order to fund the lease payments and operational costs, we recently held a pizza drive.

We recently leased a van to help transport our kids (sporting events, work experience locations, theatre productions, etc). In order to fund the lease payments and operational costs, we recently held a pizza drive. The students and staff would like to say thanks to all of those people who purchased and/or helped build pizzas. A special, HUGE thank you goes out to Carlyle Collision for their recent donation to our transportation / van fund. Thank you SO MUCH for your support! If any other parties are interested in helping us with these costs, please contact Mr. Howe at the school (453-2500).

Badminton season is here! Juniors have practice on Mondays and Wednesdays after school while seniors have practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 PM.

The senior and junior drama clubs are busy preparing their productions. In April, Carlyle will be hosting the Regional Festival. This festival will be running from Thursday, April 10, till Saturday, April 12. There are currently 9 plays registered.

YEARBOOK order forms need to be in by MARCH 14th, 2014. They are $26.00 each. This is the last chance to purchase the 2013/2014 Yearbook..

There is no school from Monday, March 24th till Friday, March 28th.

On the last Thursday of the month, students from the G.F. Kells High School will be out in the community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. The next day of help is scheduled for Thursday, March 20th. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: angelica.wiebe@cornerstonesd.ca with your ideas for Day of Help!

With the emphasis on reading in our school, and the push to fill the shelves with new reading material, our fiction collection has grown to more than 4,000! The recent popularity of apocalyptic and "zombie" books has resulted in many new titles. New books are currently being displayed in the library. There is definitely something for every interest and level. Book requests can be brought to Mrs. Richardson.

Anyone who is interested in advertising on the school's virtual signs should contact Mr. Howe at the school. For all of your Gordon F. Kells news and updates, check out the virtual signs or visit our school blog at gfkells.wordpress.com!
