The Student Leadership Team is participating in "We Create Change." This is an initiative through Free the Children to have the largest penny drive in Canadian history. As the penny goes out of circulation, donate pennies to support clean water projects in our Adopt a Village communities around the world. Please send your pennies to the school to participate in this very worthy cause. The SLT continues to sell muffins and donuts every morning for a dollar. Last week was a St. Patrick's Day "boys can't talk to girls at breaks" event. Jaida Schutz won the challenge and $20 by collecting 10 boys' Shamrock pins.

The GFK/CES 3rd Annual Pink Day has been set for Wednesday, May 1st. For more information, please contact Mr. Birch

There is no school from Friday, March 29 to April 7 due to spring break. School resumes Monday, April 8.

The Search Institute has identified the building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. The Cougar Corner will list 2 of these 40 Developmental Assets each week for the next 20 weeks. One of these assets is "Family Boundaries." The Institute reports that for healthy development, young people need to have a home where there are clear rules and consequences as well as monitoring of the young person's whereabouts. Another asset is "School Boundaries." Healthy young people need schools that provide clear rules and consequences.
