Students are also asked, if possible, to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the school's Food Bank Drive.

The next School Community Council meeting is Jan. 9 at 7:00 PM.

Drama season is fast approaching. Both the junior and senior drama clubs have started practising. Seniors meet Monday evenings at 7:00 and juniors meet after school on Thursdays. Both the seniors and the juniors will be competing in the Regional Festival in Lampman in the spring.

The Search Institute has identified the building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. The Cougar Corner will list 2 of these 40 Developmental Assets each week for the next 20 weeks. One of these assets is ability with "Interpersonal Competence." This involves young people having empathy, sensitivity, and friendship skills. Another asset is "Cultural Competence." This means the young person has knowledge of and comfort with people of different cultural, racial, and ethnic, backgrounds.
