Health Region recruits new Vice President, Medical

Dr. Dimitri Louvish has been appointed by the Sun Country Health Region as Vice President Medical, effective March 3, 2014. Louvish will fill the position left by the resignation of Dr. Alain Lenferna.

Dr. Dimitri Louvish has been appointed by the Sun Country Health Region as Vice President Medical, effective March 3, 2014.

Louvish will fill the position left by the resignation of Dr. Alain Lenferna.

Louvish comes to Sun Country Health Region from Ontario where he has been working in an Urgent Care Clinical Practice and as a Medical Consultant.

Prior to this he had worked as the Chief Medical Advisor with Workers' Safety and Compensation Commission in the Northwest Territories and as an Emergency Room Physician with Health Force Ontario.

He received his professional training and graduated from McGill University, Faculty of Medicine. He has substantial experience in the areas of general and emergency medicine, occupational medicine, insurance and compensation medicine and disability claims adjudication, sport medicine, musculoskeletal disorders and chronic pain management.

Louvish is also a Board Examiner with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

In Sun Country Health Region, Louvish will engage with the local medical community, particularly with respect to quality improvement.
