Lynn Brady and Connie Smith draw the winner of the history book raffle in front of the thermometer on Main Street.

Although the weather was dreary August 15th, one lucky man's world was made a little brighter. Lynn Brady, from the history book committee, met with Connie Smith, Owner and operator from Cornerstone Shoes and Sears Canada, to pull the lucky winner of the patio furniture. Pat Coffey was the fortunate winner, leaving many participants envious.Sears was kind enough to donate half the value of the furniture set plus a few lanterns to the cause. The set comes from the Beechfield collection at Sears and includes a glass table, love seat and two stackable chairs. The set is made from strong steel frames in a black powder-coated finish, with spun-polyester cushions.Although Brady was unsure exactly how much money they have raised, she knows that it is inching upwards slowly. While making the raffle draw, it was also noticed that the red thermometer on Main Street has been painted slightly to an estimate slightly over $25,000. Many more donations are needed to complete the project, and to pay off the printers.
