The new Carlyle History Book, Blacktop to Black Gold, collection phase is complete and the last submissions are on their way to the publisher, Friesen's of Altona, MB. We have been informed that it will be six months before the book can be ready for you to read.

This collection phase has taken longer than we thought; 440 family histories and 325 business/other histories. We ask for your understanding. Our group has worked very hard to make this publication as complete as possible.

Thanks to all those who have co-operated to gather and prepare this material to submit and to those of you who have donated or made down payments on a book. ($60. at the town Office or send to box 2013 Carlyle).

Special thanks to Bear Claw Community Development Corporation for their monetary contribution to this project.

Our committee continues to fundraise and will be providing lunch at the Oilmen's Bonspiel, Feb. 20-23. Support us with a positive response when we call for your help; call Beth Corrigan at 453-2816 or e-mail carlylehistory@hotmail.com to volunteer.

Plan to come to the curling rink for lunch that weekend.
