BROADVIEW - The Saskatchewan RCMP's Major Crimes Unit is advising the public of an increased police presence in Broadview, in relation to an ongoing investigation at a residence in the 900-block of Front Street.

According to the RCMP, investigators have confirmed a 52-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were located dead inside the residence on Aug. 16. Next of kin have been notified and Victim Services has been engaged to provide support. The man and the woman were known to each other.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, in conjunction with Broadview RCMP and the Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services, will remain in the community for an undetermined amount of time and are asking residents to stay clear of the area. Investigators are conducting interviews and gathering information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Saskatchewan Coroner's Service is also engaged and autopsies have been ordered.

"Investigators are thankful to the residents in the community for their patience and for providing the space required to conduct a thorough investigation," the RCMP said.
