The skies behind Weyburn's historic water tower are brightly lit up by intense lightning, during one of a series of late-night thunderstorms on Monday night, bringing high winds and heavy rain. This was the latest in a series of intense summer storms that have hit the Weyburn area, with some storms on Saturday also producing hail and even tornadoes in the Minton, Ralph, Halbrite and Griffin areas. This week many property owners are cleaning up the after-effects, and some farmers are being assessed for hail damage, with some crops completely wiped out.
