Members of the Estevan Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs were out in the community Saturday morning for their annual Day of Kindness initiative.
A dozen Kin club members and seven child volunteers went to various locations in the community. They brought flowers to the residents of the Estevan Regional Nursing Home and the St. Joseph's Hospital's long-term care ward, they visited the animals at the Estevan Humane Society's shelter, and they handed out free coffee and tickets for upcoming events in the community.
They also inserted coins into vending machines so that people could have a free treat.
The Day of Kindness is an initiative for Kin clubs across the country.
It also brought an end to Kin Week in Estevan, which is being held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kin Canada.
The next edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
