Ladies, you know how to blanch a tomato, sweat an onion and reduce a liquid, but do you know how to check your air filter, fluid levels and tire pressure?
Kelly Williams, race and pace car driver, will be in Weyburn to head up a ladies car clinic at RP Automotive on October 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"In this industry, our main focus is in making sure your vehicle is safe and reliable," said Rod Pickering, RP Automotive owner, adding it's important for vehicle owners to know how to take preventative measures to ensure the life of the vehicle.
In speaking with a community resident with a desire to learn, Pickering said he contacted a supplier who turned him to Williams' car clinic.
Williams makes a living working in the automotive industry. She raced for 15 years and is now spokesperson for AIA's national program, Be Car Care Aware. In addition, she has also appeared on Canada's Worst Driver and was host of Global's Mechanical Chicks.
The Ladies Car Care Clinic is a fun and informative clinic especially designed for women and will cover a variety of topics from how to check tire pressure, emergency roadside kit contents, oil and air filters, brakes, various vehicular fluids and more.
During this clinic, women will be learning to tell the difference between clean and dirty fluids, examine the undercarriage of a vehicle as well as go over what contents should be in the emergency road side kit.
The clinic will take place in the shop area, so it's recommended to dress warm. Seating is limited, so please call Rod or Rob at 306-842-4022 to reserve a spot.
