The Weyburn & District United Way has announced the date of this year's Communithon and their new Lady Charity and Captain United.
The event will be held on October 21 and 22 with Tabitha Mainil as Lady Charity and Curtis Bourassa as Captain United.
Mainil and Bourassa have been involved with the Communithon in past years as well as active volunteers in numerous other community organizations. Both are heading into their Grade 12 year at the Weyburn Comprehensive School.
"Charity" and "United" are committed to enhancing and creating awareness around the Weyburn and district United Way and the 11 member agencies it supports and are eager to start their roles as official ambassadors of Communithon 2011.
The pair is ready to attend a special event, function or fundraiser for the Communithon. Email weyburn.unitedway@accesscomm.ca to request the attendance of Captain United and Lady Charity at any Communithon-related event.
The local United Way is also encouraging people to check out their new Facebook page to discover more opportunities to volunteer or raise funds for the 2011 Communithon.
