Mayor Debra Button, far right, learns about the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children from Margaret Brown, centre, the Supreme Honoured Royal Lady for the Royal Purple of Canada. Several local Royal Purple ladies, including Margaret Leavens at left, toured the Supreme Honoured Royal Lady through City Hall on Wednesday. The Royal Purple will celebrate 100 years of volunteer efforts in 2014. The Royal Purple was originally started in 1914 as an auxiliary to the Elks of Canada and was founded by six women.
