Whether they are world renowned shows such as the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Marions- Nous in Montreal or smaller town marketplaces, these shows go beyond the free gifts collected at each booth.

Memorial Hall was filled with exhibitors Saturday, April 28 for their Spring Marketplace.

The Marketplace aims to attract locals to a wide range of products including makeup companies, children's books, candles, jewelry and much more.

Beginning at 1 p.m and ending at 5 p.m., the event was short-lived, and could have used some extra advertising. Despite this, the day managed to be a success amongst shoppers.

At the entrance guests were greeted with the option to purchase inexpensive raffle tickets to win a variety of beautiful merchandise.

The atmosphere was bright and friendly as merchants even talked amongst each other demonstrating their products.

These shows continue to do a great job of displaying not only national companies but also focus' on local business' getting to know their community members.

All the proceeds from raffle sales and donations were given to the Baby Nixon Fund. This fund is put together to raise awareness and funds for a baby with a very rare condition. Nixon is from Regina, and is said to have no immune system and a major heart defect. For more information you can join the Facebook page entitled The Nixon Fund.
