Man arrested for impersonating Regina Police officer

Police have arrested an individual who is alleged to have been impersonating a Regina Police officer since May of this year.

REGINA — Regina Police have arrested one individual after an investigation into allegations they were impersonating a police officer earlier this year.

An investigation by police determined that an adult male had been falsely claiming to be a member of the Regina Police Service since May, despite not being a police officer with the service.

Tyson Englot, 34, of Regina was arrested on Aug. 7 on charges of personating a peace officer, and made his first appearance in provincial court on Monday.

Investigation is ongoing, and RPS is asking anyone with information that may assist to contact the Regina Police Service at 1-306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
