ESTEVAN - A Fillmore man who is facing several charges after being arrested in Midale last month was in Estevan Provincial Court on Sept. 1.

Curtis W. Armstrong, 33, is facing several charges, including transporting a firearm and ammunition in a careless manner; possessing a firearm without a licence; possessing a firearm while prohibited; and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

All charges are under the Criminal Code.

On Aug. 4, the Estevan RCMP was dispatched to an erratic driver near Midale. As a result of the ensuing traffic stop, Armstrong was arrested on warrants out of the Weyburn detachment and the firearms charges were subsequently laid.

Armstrong was slated to appear in court on Aug. 29, but was not present and a bench warrant was issued. He was later apprehended and was in court on Sept. 1.

He was released with conditions and is set for court in Estevan again on Sept. 12.
