Spectators are sure to see bull-riding that is well worth the price of admission with many riders coming straight from the Calgary Stampede.

Wet rodeo grounds resulted in the cancellation of Manor Fun Daze last month, but organizers say that due to the wind and heat, the show will go on. Manor will be home to the annual event on Saturday, July 23.

Organizers are pleased that the event will continue on this year, even if it means a one-day event in comparison to the typical two-day festivities.

The 32nd annual Manor Fun Daze will kick off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast to be held at the Legion Hall. Breakfast will be served until 10 a.m., at which time the "Skid" Clarke Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament will begin. Organizers are still looking for teams and those wishing to register can do so by contacting Kourtlin at 577-3118.

At 11 a.m., parade floats will take to the streets and children and parents will line the parade route. Those interested in entering can register that day or call Don ahead of time at 421-3085.

Games and activities for the kids will be held throughout the day and are sure to keep the kids busy.

The bull-riding this year is set to start at 2:30, a time change from last year. Some of the PBR riders will be coming straight from Calgary with organizers expecting to have 25 top riders display their skills throughout the afternoon. Unfortunately, there will be no barrel racing as the arena is still too wet. During the rodeo intermission, there will be a side-by-side ATV draw for the Manor Rink. Tickets can be purchased throughout the day on the Manor grounds.

For supper, a beef and pork BBQ will be cooked by Rylan Weir and will be served by the library ladies. The Air Cadets will be responsible for the concession booth that will be open on the grounds, with all proceeds going to their organization.

Beer gardens will be open throughout the day beginning at 1 p.m. and for those wanting to dance the night away, a Cowboy Cabaret will start at 9 p.m.. A DJ will be on hand to provide music throughout the evening.

Entry fees for the Manor grounds is $15 for Adults, $5 for 12 and under and free for those 6 and under.
