Dan is one of the original "8" founders of the Saskatchewan Party. First elected in 1991, he has served most critic positions while in opposition.

Dan is one of the original "8" founders of the Saskatchewan Party. First elected in 1991, he has served most critic positions while in opposition. Since forming Government in 2007, Dan served as Minister of Government Services, Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) and Minister responsible for Information Technology Office (ITO). Dan was the Government House Leader at the dissolution of the Legislature and Co-chair of the Legislation and Regulations Committee as well as serving on five other committees. Dan farmed in the Alida area for many years and prior to being elected he was employed by Producers Pipeline Inc., now Enbridge.
