Todd Gervais is the candidate representing the NDP in the upcoming election.

Todd Gervais began his working life with a stint with the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by time as a comic book store owner, freelance journalist, and business developer. Todd's path led him around the globe, including time in the United States, Germany, and Italy. His educational background includes studies in political science and history at the University of Windsor.

In 2008, Todd took a position with The Carlyle Observer newspaper. The stories he heard about the need for improvements in long-term care, health care, doctor recruitment and municipal infrastructure inspired him to become involved with the political life of the province, and the Southeast specifically.

Todd and his wife, Connie, make their home in the community of Carlyle. Todd presently works as an Issues Management Researcher for the provincial NDP Caucus.

"With billions of dollars in oil revenue pouring into the provincial coffers, a significant portion of that coming from the Southeast, it makes no sense that we should be witnessing a time of cuts to senior care beds, and a lack of initiative on the part of government in reinvesting back into our communities," Todd said. "Saskatchewan and the Southeast need a government and a representative that is looking towards a brighter future, where you and your families benefit from positive change."
