Midale Lions planning for first Santa Claus parade

Midale (cpd) - The Midale Lions Club are putting on their first Santa Parade. It will take place on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. It will start at the school and end at the rink.



Midale (cpd) - The Midale Lions Club are putting on their first Santa Parade. It will take place on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. It will start at the school and end at the rink. They will be serving hot chocolate and hot dogs and a free public skate from 1-3 p.m. The Lions will also be holding a bingo from 1-3 p.m. at the rink. Please consider putting in a float or any Christmas items to make the first Santa Parade a success. Please have entries in by Nov. 10 to Marilyn Gust.

The Mustangs will be in Redvers on Nov. 16, home on the 17th to host the Oxbow Huskies and back home on Nov. 23 against the Redvers Rockets.

The Mini Mustangs initiation team will host a six-team home tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The Midale Petroleum Storm novice team are going to host a home tournament on Saturday, Jan. 19.

There will be free public skating on Friday, Nov. 16 from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2:30-4:30 p.m., and Sunday the 18th from 2-4 p.m.

Please remember that all children 12 and under require a hockey helmet to be on the ice and they are not to be left at the rink unsupervised. The rink does have a couple extra helmets that are new that you may borrow if needed. Skate sharpening is available when Vern Duncan is at the rink. The cost is $5 at the time the skates are sharpened. The rink has a public Google calendar that is updated daily and is called Midale Rink. If you are unable to access it, call or text Catrina on the rink cell phone with your e-mail address and she will send it to you via e-mail. The rink is also on Facebook as Midale Rink/Harry 0' Memorial Arena. This is a public site and anybody may join. Catrina also puts updates on here and lists the public skating schedule.

The Midale Hockey Association is looking for anyone interested in officiating Novice games here in Midale. The Midale Hockey Association will pay for you to take your course if you are not already certified. Please call Catrina Moldenhauer or Colin Rosengren. A list of dates and places to take the course are listed on SHA's website.

A Remembrance Day Service was held at Midale's Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Nov. 11.

If anyone is interested in curling as a team or being placed on a curling team, please contact Brad Eggum or Janice Vilcu. The curling ice will be going in soon.

The Grade 5/6 classroom is looking for crib boards and pegs. If anybody has any they would like to get rid of or donate, please talk to Miss Adams.

Mr. D. Campbell, the school services counsellor will be hosting a movie and game club on Thursdays from 3:15 to 5 p.m. All students interested are welcome to join.

Adult volleyball will be held at the school on Tuesday nights from 7-9 p.m. All adults are welcome to come out. The cost is $2 per evening to play.

Midale and Area Recreation Board will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft, Trade and Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tables will be $20 each and call Catrina to book your table. There are already 24 vendors coming. Also this day the Midale Mini Mustangs are hosting a six-team tournament.
