Midale (cpd) - The Midale Pool Fundraising Committee is hosting a snowmobile rally here on Saturday, Feb. 16. Registration will take place at the Midale Civic Centre (curling rink) from 10 a.m. until noon and the cost is $20 per rider.
Midale (cpd) - The Midale Pool Fundraising Committee is hosting a snowmobile rally here on Saturday, Feb. 16. Registration will take place at the Midale Civic Centre (curling rink) from 10 a.m. until noon and the cost is $20 per rider. All riders must be back to the Civic Centre by 4:30 p.m.
The $20 per rider fee will give each rider a number which will be entered into a draw for one of several great door prizes. There will be two courses: one course is 50 km and the other one is 100 km course (riders' choice). There will be a 50/50 draw and raffle tickets on one of two TV's: a 50-inch LED Toshiba and a 32-inch LED Samsung at $5/ticket. Raffle tickets are available before the rally at local Midale businesses and at the town office. They will be available for purchase at the rally. Food and beverages will be available following the rally for a small cost.
The Midale Pool Fundraising Committee is looking for more people to join their group and is open to any fundraising ideas. Current members include Chris Dewtie, Colin Rosengren, Eric Kesslering, Curtis Pederson, Tyler Scrupps and Catrina Moldenhauer.
The 'Cenovus Energy Reading Program' had four players from the Weyburn Red Wings visit the school here on Feb. 7. They read to and talked to all the elementary students. The children each received a complimentary ticket to a Red Wings game.
The Midale and Area Farmer's Curling Bonspiel has been booked for March 14-17. If you would like to enter a team please call Brad Eggum.
The Midale Oilmen's Association will be hosting their 25th annual Curling Bonspiel on Feb. 21-23. It starts on the evening of the 21st, runs all day on Friday with a supper, Dutch auction and dance, and Saturday is the playoffs. Cost to enter is $240 per team.
The dance is open to all aged 19 and older. Sorry, no minors allowed this year. To enter a team, please call Catrina or Darren Moldenhauer. For more information or if you would like to join the committee, talk to any of the members. Other members are: Ordean and Tara Kolke, Russ and Colleen Scharnatta, Bruce and Berla Palmer, Glenn and Robin Wiens and Dennis and Tara-Lee McIndoe. The Oilmen's Bonspiel already has 16 teams entered.
The Midale Mini Mustangs hosted Lampman on Feb. 8. They were away in Lake Alma on the 9th.
The Midale Petroleum Storm were away on Saturday to play in Milestone. They will play at home against the Weyburn Dodge Caravan Wings on Friday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m., and then will play in Crosby on Saturday, Feb. 16.
There will be free public skating from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 15 and from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Midale Central School is on break from the 15th until the 25th, when the children will return to school. The rink will be open from Monday to Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. daily for free public skating. The Midale Lions Club and the Midale and Area Rec Board provided this service to the public.
The Midale Mustangs are still waiting to see who they will meet and when they will start their playoffs.
Capital One Rocks and Rings Program came to the school on Feb. 12. Rocks and Rings are designed to introduce the Olympic sport of curling to all the elementary children. This fun and interactive program is being sponsored by the Midale Oilmen's Association.
The Cymri 4-H Speech Day will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Midale Central School library. Each 4-H family is asked to bring some finger foods to share. Everyone is welcome to attend.
There will be a Youth Retreat at Camp Metochos on Feb. 16-18. Tim Wray from Alberta will be the retreat leader. For more information please contact cjmack@sasktel.net.
