On Wednesday, Oct. 30, the Top 100 Saskatchewan Companies list was released. Based on the fiscal year of 2012, the 2013 awards were based on revenue and sales driven by the companies.

The list was created to include companies which either are located specifically in Saskatchewan or those that do a large portion of business here.

The 2013 list was created by Benchmark Public Relations in Regina, and strove to include all companies in Saskatchewan, though according to the Leader Post some Saskatchewan based companies did not participate.

This year, a locally based company created in 2005, was finally able to achieve Top 100 recognition.

In late 2004 Gerald Trobert, Robert MacCuish, and Dan Eddy: "realized a need for a higher quality directional service based in Saskatchewan with Saskatchewan knowledge of the geology..." Eddy stated. Together the three co-founded Millennium Directional Services, which has grown since its inception in 2005.

"It's grown exponentially..." Eddy, President/CEO of Millennium, explained. "It's grown leaps and bounds since 2005. Over 2,200 directionals drilled across Saskatchewan and North Dakota, and Manitoba.

Having been considered since 2007 for the Top 100 Saskatchewan Companies, they have finally found their place on the list coming in at 96th.

"It's a great day for Millennium to be recognized like that!" Eddy stated. "In 2008 we were honoured with a Saskatchewan Apex award and that was for a Saskatchewan New Venture award... that was a great day for Millennium as well."

Millennium is recorded as having $19,403,145 in 2012, by the Top 100 and Eddy says this is due to their amazing employees who have helped to bring the company to where it is today.

"People and supplying our clients with the latest in technology and directional drilling equipment," Eddy explained when asked how they've been able to reach this achievement.

One of the proudest accomplishments of the business according to Eddy is the fact that since the beginning they have never lost money, which has allowed them to grow each year.

Now operating Millennium U.S.A. out of Denver and having acquired an NWD research centre in Nisku, the company has met great success.

Millennium joins names such as the Federated Co-operatives Limited (1st), PotashCorp (2nd), Farm Credit Canada (9th), Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (10th), and the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club (88th).

Pleased with how the company has grown, Millennium looks forward to continue its success into the future.

"Going forward... continually expanding in Canada and U.S.A.," Eddy stated.
