The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints has two missionaries in town who are here to help in the community where they can.

Elder Shane Dola and Elder William Hornberger who are on a two-year mission have been in Weyburn helping at the Salvation Army, Hilltop Manor, the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Wheatland Senior Centre.

But they are also available to other members of the community if anyone needs a helping hand.

"We're here to help out in the community, to teach people about Jesus Christ and to show Christ-like love through volunteering any way we can," said Dola.

Dola, from Medicine Hat, Alberta, has been on his mission for 11 months and through this mission has learned the joy and happiness that can from helping those who cannot help themselves.

Hornberger is from Tremonton, Utah and has been in Weyburn for one month.

"I love to help people. It helps me become closer to Christ and I feel the same love he felt for other people," said Hornberger.

Although Dola and Hornberger may not be in town, there are always Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints missionaries in Weyburn.

Anyone needing a helping hand is asked to call 306-897-8277.
