A $1,000 donation was made to the Family Place by West Country Energy Services, the new owners of PAR Contracting.

The Family Place received a $1,000 donation from the new owners of PAR Contracting on Wednesday morning.

Ron and Patty Evans sold the Halbrite-based business to West Country Energy Services, after operating it for 15 years, and Ron came by the Family Place with Gary Godberson of West Country to make the donation.

West Country, which has locations in Swift Current and Alberta, has bought PAR Contracting’s facilities in Halbrite, and all staff will be retained by the new owners.

Godberson noted that West Country employees have worked in Weyburn and area before, as they inspected gas lines for any leaks on behalf of SaskEnergy, and they will be carrying on the work that PAR Contracting has been doing in the southeast.

The programs for Family Place, including Mini-Go, will be starting back up after the Labour Day weekend, said Gutzke, who added that their major fundraising efforts will be going towards their new building, the former Dance Zone facility.
