The Chamber of Commerce are seeking nominations for their annual Golden Sheaf award. This award is based on a farmer's contribution to, and participation in, the agricultural industry and community life of Weyburn.

The Golden Sheaf will be presented at Farmer Appreciation Night on Tuesday, October 30 at McKenna Hall. Tickets cost $35, and can be purchased at the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

"The Chamber has presented the Golden Sheaf award to a producer who demonstrates excellence in agriculture, business and citizenship for over 15 years," said Jeff Chessall, chamber president. "We would encourage everyone to look around our community, and pay tribute to someone who has achieved success in agriculture."

"The Chamber is confident in the strength of our agricultural business sector in Weyburn and area, and we're proud to have the opportunity to pay tribute to that industry," said Jeff Richards, Chamber manager.

Nominations for the Golden Sheaf award close on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. A selection committee, comprised of members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Weyburn Agricultural Society shall select a suitable recipient from all the applicants nominated.

Golden Sheaf nomination forms can be picked up at the Chamber office, or downloaded from the Chamber website at www.weyburnchamber.com.
