One person suffers serious injuries in collision near Lang

One person suffered what the RCMP called serious injuries in a collision near Lang early Thursday.

LANG - Emergency crews were called to a collision in southeast Saskatchewan early Thursday.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Milestone RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 39 southeast of Lang. Initial investigation determined a semi-trailer unit and an SUV collided.

The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries the RCMP said were described as serious in nature. According to the RCMP, the semi driver did not report injuries to police.

Emergency services continue working to clear the area and motorists can expect delays. The investigation continues.

The Highway Hotline reports that equipment and people have been working in the ditches. Motorists are asked to slow down and use extreme caution when passing.
