Opportunity Road Race a success

Approximately 130 people participated in running or walking to raise funds for the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation on August 19. The 2012 Opportunity Road Race winner for 5k was Jaxon Marshall followed by Parise McMillan.

Approximately 130 people participated in running or walking to raise funds for the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation on August 19. The 2012 Opportunity Road Race winner for 5k was Jaxon Marshall followed by Parise McMillan. The winner of the 10k was Ted Jaleta followed by Lindsay Irwin. Gerry Nagy won the 15k followed by Celene Sidloski.

A continental breakfast was provided to the runners after they completed the race. The breakfast was sponsored by the Co-op and was provided by the Student Representative Council of the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Proceeds from the breakfast went to the SRC.

Total funds raised by the race had not yet been tallied at the time of publication.
