Pair arrested in Weyburn drug bust

A Weyburn woman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking along with a Govan man, after $28,000 worth of cocaine was seized in a drug bust on Wednesday. Both accused, Tracy L. Leveille, 34, of Weyburn and Eric Lafrance St.



A Weyburn woman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking along with a Govan man, after $28,000 worth of cocaine was seized in a drug bust on Wednesday.

Both accused, Tracy L. Leveille, 34, of Weyburn and Eric Lafrance St. Pierre, 37, of Govan, appeared in Regina provincial court on Friday; Leveille was released on a long list of conditions, while her co-accused was held in custody until a bail hearing on Monday. Leveille reappeared in court in Weyburn on Tuesday to speak to her charges.

The bust was carried by officers with the Weyburn Police Service, the Weyburn Organized Crime Unit, the Regina Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, the Regina General Investigations Section, and the Organized Crime Unit - South.

A search warrant was executed at a Weyburn residence on Eighth Street, and police seized a substantial amount of cocaine with an estimated street value of $28,000 as well as cash. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was found in a vehicle on the property and was seized as well.

Leveille, 34, has been charged with possession of cocaine of the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Lafrance St. Pierre, 37, has been charged with possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Leveille was released on several conditions, including that she live in Weyburn and stay within 150 km radius of the city, not possess or use alcohol or drugs, possess only one cell phone with all phone records available to the police upon request, consent to searches by the police, not undertake child care of any kind, not contact her co-accused, not associate with any known members of the Hells Angels or individuals with known drug records, and not associate with anyone displaying gang colours or tattoos, specifically including the Hells Angels.
