Plane that crashed near Shaunavon was headed for Estevan

SHAUNAVON - The federal Transportation Safety Board deployed two investigators following a plane crash near Shaunavon on Sunday morning that left two people dead.

The plane, a Cessna 172, departed from Swift Current earlier on Sunday and was headed to Estevan for a pipeline inspection. 

The crash occurred approximately 11 kilometres south-southwest of Shaunavon and there was a post-impact fire. 

The TSB investigators arrived Monday afternoon to gather information and assess the occurrence. The investigators are working on the site again on Tuesday. will have more details as they become available.
