Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested another person for methamphetamine possession during Saturday’s night shift.
Police conducted a traffic stop and two people were apprehended. A 28-year-old passenger was charged with possession of methamphetamine and will answer to the charge on Sept. 17.
A 38-year-old man in the vehicle was arrested for having an active warrant from another region. He was released with documents to attend court in that city.
In other recent police news, members of the EPS received a call during Thursday’s night shift to assist a man with keeping the peace while he retrieved items from his apartment. He never arrived at the residence and was located a couple of blocks away, yelling and screaming. Contact was made and the man was arrested for public intoxication. He was lodged in cells until he was sober.
Police had a report of a gas drive off from a service station. The vehicle was identified and the owner located. A mistake had been made and the owner was able to return and pay for the outstanding fuel.
Members received a call about an alarm at a local business. The alarm turned out to be false.
Police conducted a high visibility check stop during Friday’s night shift, and a large number of cars were stopped. Police are happy to report that all of the drivers were sober.
Officers were called to a local drinking establishment regarding an altercation between a taxi driver and a 22-year-old man. The matter is still under investigation.
Police attended to two separate noise complaints during Saturday’s night shift. The occupants were warned and no further action was required.
Several traffic stops were conducted. One 22-year-old man was charged for having open alcohol in a vehicle. The fine is $360.
