Weyburn Police Service responded to a number of calls regarding assaults, break and enters and accidents over the past week.
On Sunday, January 19 police responded to a complaint of an assault on a cab driver and mischief to the cab. Police are continuing their investigation.
Police received a report from four separate businesses that they had been broken into on Saturday, January 18. Investigation revealed an 18-year-old male was responsible for all four of the break-ins. He was arrested and taken into custody facing charges of four counts of break and enter. He was remanded in custody January 21 where he will appear in Weyburn Provincial Court.
Also on Saturday, January 18, police responded to a report of a confrontation between two middle aged women at a local drinking establishment. One alleged being assaulted by the other, the police investigation is ongoing.
Police responded to a report of a fight at a local bar on Saturday, January 18. Upon arrival, all parties had left the area. Police remained on scene to keep the peace and prevent any further incidents until everyone had left the area.
On Thursday January 16 police assisted EMS with a lifeline emergency call at a residence. Police found an elderly female in distress. The woman was transported to the hospital by EMS for medical care.
Police responded to a call of an assault with a weapon that occurred at a local residence on Saturday, January 18. Police arrested a 42-year-old male without incident. The man was taken in custody and charged with assault with weapon, uttering threats, and breach of conditions. He was remanded in custody to appear in Weyburn Provincial Court on Tuesday, January 21.
On Wednesday, January 15, police responded to a missing person at a local group home. The missing person was located and returned home safe and sound.
Police received a report of a theft from a parked vehicle on Wednesday, January 15. A number of items were taken from the unlocked vehicle. Police would like to remind everyone to lock your vehicle and keep all valuables out of plain site.
Also on Wednesday January 15, police responded to a local hotel for a report of two individuals fighting. Investigation revealed that one of the individuals had caused damage to the other person's vehicle. Restitution for the damage was made and individuals parted company.
On Tuesday, January 14 police received a complaint that a person known to the complainant was posting inappropriate things about them on Facebook. Police spoke with other party involved and posts were removed.
Police also responded to a number of motor vehicle accidents over the past week, many due to icy road conditions. Drivers are reminded again to drive carefully with the icy road conditions.
