Police investigating truck-driving vandal

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of March 4 to 11: During the reporting period, police dealt a number of calls for service. *On March 10, an 18 year old female contacted police regarding an assault.

During the reporting period, police dealt a number of calls for service.

*On March 10, an 18 year old female contacted police regarding an assault. The female stated that while at a party in Weyburn she was assaulted by another female. The investigation is ongoing.

*A driving complaint was received from a semi-driver, who stated he was followed into Weyburn by a half ton truck that was driving erratically. Both vehicles stopped at the 3rd Street and #39 highway intersection and words were exchanged. As the semi was heading out of the city, he noticed the truck parked at the Queen Street intersection. As the semi passed, the driver of the truck threw something, which struck the windshield of the semi. Police investigation revealed the object was beer bottle. Police are looking for a dark colored, Chevy or GMC truck with a Supercab, which was very muddy. Anyone with information is asked to contact Weyburn Police Service or Crimestoppers.

*Police attended a noisy party complaint in McKinnon Bay. The party was cleared and the property owner was warned.

*Police were called to a disturbance in the 10 block of 1st Avenue South. As a result a 22 year old male and a 27 year old male were charged under the fighting bylaw.

*Police were called to a disturbance in the 10 Block of Railway Avenue regarding a fight in progress. Upon police arrival, both parties had left the scene.

*Persons living in the 1800 block of Eaglesham Avenue contacted police in regards to a break in at their residence. Stolen were electronic equipment and cash. The investigation is ongoing.

*Police have received a complaint of damage being done to the old water tower on South hill. Persons have been breaking into the building by damaging the main door. Police are asking for members of the public to contact them when persons are seen in this area.

*On March 9, a business in the 1400 block of Sims Avenue called complaining of a drunk male on the property. Police located the person and removed him from property.

*A business contacted police in regards to some paper money they had received. The business believed that the money was fake. The investigation revealed that the money was not counterfeit.

*Police received a complaint of a truck parked in the 10 block of 11th Street with its stereo playing very loud but the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.

*A complaint was received that a vehicle was on the 10 block of 8th Street, with a noisy stereo. Police located the owner and he was warned about his actions.

*On March 8, police responded to a call of a person trying to steal a motor vehicle in the 10 block of 6th Street. Police found a 21 year old male passed out in the driver's seat of the complainants' vehicle. Accused has been charged with mischief and will be making a court appearance later this month.

*Police received a complaint from a business in the 100 block of Souris Avenue of a male drunk and causing problems. Police attended and took the subject to his residence.

*March 7, a 21 year old male from Weyburn was reported missing by his partner. The missing male was located by the RCMP in Alberta later that day in good health.

*Police received a complaint of a youth playing hockey in the 700 block of Coteau Avenue and he was also shooting rocks across the street. Police spoke to the subject warned him of his actions.

*On March 6, police responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Government Road. There were no injuries but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

*Police attended to a family dispute in the 400 block of Qu'Appelle Street. The situation was resolved and there were no charges laid.

*Police received a complaint of a 13 year old male who had not returned home from school. Police were able to locate the youth at a friend's home at 2:30 a.m. the next day.

*On March 5, a person contacted the police regarding a person trespassing on their property. Police attended but the person had left the scene before police arrived.

*Police attended to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of 18th Street. No charges were laid and both parties left the property.

*Police attended to a family domestic in the 100 block of 9th Street. Police were able to resolve the situation without any charges being laid.

*On March 4, a 22 year old male from Weyburn was charged with impaired driving and refusal of a breath test following a traffic stop. The accused was also a suspended driver and his vehicle was impounded.

*Police were called to a noisy party in the 900 block of Bison Avenue. The property owner was spoken to and warned about the noise.

*A person representing a business in the 10 block of Railway Avenue reported that the business had been broken into. The investigation is ongoing.
