Due to the rising number of similar complaints, Weyburn Police Services are reminding the public to remove all valuables from your vehicles and to lock the doors.
Police received a complaint of an attempted theft from a vehicle on Sunday, November 3. The owner of the vehicle reported the door of his vehicle ajar and thinks it may have been left unlocked.
On the same day, police attended a residence to keep the peace while a female removed some of her personal belongings. The incident resolved without further issues.
* Over the weekend, police responded to noisy party complaints in two different areas of the city. The parties were broken up and people sent home without incident.
* Police were called to a break, enter and mischief at a local business on Saturday, November 2. Through investigation, police discovered that two male youths, ages 15 and 16, had broken a window and entered the business. They had done damage in the building and left. Both youths were charged for break and enter and will appear in court later in November.
Also on Saturday, November 2, police received a complaint after a dog had jumped over a fence and attacked another dog. The owner of the first dog has been contacted and charges are pending.
* A joint investigation was begun between the Weyburn Police Service and Social Services into allegations of assault of three children after receiving information from a former resident of the home the children were living in. Interviews are ongoing and charges are pending.
*In the early morning of Friday, November 1, police responded to a downtown bar for a report of a fight. A 20-year-old Weyburn man was charged under the bylaw for fighting in public.
Also on Friday, police assisted the Estevan Police Service in locating a male after receiving a call from a concerned friend over the well being of the male. The male was located in Weyburn and given assistance for lodging and help in arrangements to get back to his home town in Manitoba.
* In the early evening of Thursday, October 31, police stopped and arrested a 30-year -old Yellow Grass man. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will appear in court in December.
The Weyburn Police Service reports a relatively quiet evening for trick or treaters this past Halloween. One report of a missing child was received after the child did not return home with the rest of the group she had been out trick or treating with. A short time after the initial call, the child was reported to have returned home without incident. Police received a report of a young male having his bag of candy taken after a group of kids in a blue car stopped, one male jumped out and grabbed the bag, then got back in the car and fled. No further description was received and no suspects have been identified.
On Thursday October 31, an investigation into a domestic assault resulted in a 26-year-old Weyburn man being charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released with conditions of no contact with the victim and has a court date set for December.
* On Tuesday October 29, officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving two adult males. One male forced his way into the residence of the other male, physically assaulting him. The victim sustained minor injuries and the matter remains under investigation.
Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from Barber Motors. The vehicle is a 2004 Ford F350 extended cab truck, white in color. The truck has damage above the rear tire on the driver's side. It went missing from the lot sometime between October 15 and 24.
* The morning of Monday October 28, police responded to a complaint of an attempted break and enter at the Bridge School located on 3rd St in Weyburn. Damage was noted to a ventilation fan in the kitchen area, however it is believed that access into the building was not gained. The matter is under investigation.
