Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of August 30 to September 5:
*On September 5, police attended a complaint of a theft from a local business.
*On September 4, police attended a motor vehicle accident at 14th Street and Coteau Avenue. The matter is under investigation.
*Police attended to several disturbance complaints resulting in many people being arrested for being drunk in a public place.
*On September 1, police were called to a traffic accident at the intersection of Third Street and Bison Avenue. Minor injuries were reported and the matter is under investigation.
*During a traffic stop, three males were found in possession of a large quantity of marijuana. Charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking have been laid. The matter is still under investigation.
*On August 31, police attended to a complaint of a stolen vehicle, the matter is under investigation.
*Police received a complaint of telephone fraud in which the victim was told that the caller was his nephew and he needed $4,000 because of an accident. The matter is currently under investigation.
The Weyburn Police Service has dealt with two similar incidents of telephone fraud, recently. They are encouraging the public to use caution with these types of requests and to call the Weyburn Police Service before they comply with any actions requested of them.
*Police attended a domestic dispute; the matter was resolved without further incident.
*On August 30, police attended a complaint at a local car repair business in which three vehicles had windows smashed out of them. The matter is under investigation.
*In total, the Weyburn Police Service attended 127 calls for service during this reporting period, including several motor vehicle accidents and calls involving alcohol.
