RCMP Report

Between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17 the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 43 calls for service. On Jan. 11 there was a panic alarm at a residence in Arcola.

On Jan. 11 there was a panic alarm at a residence in Arcola. Members performed checks and it was discovered to be a false alarm as there was no break in or emergency. They concluded the system must have been faulty.

An abandoned vehicle near Manor was reported. It was discovered the vehicle had simply gotten stuck and had not been moved yet. It was not of any suspicious nature.

Large semis moving rig equipment near Redvers in a snowstorm were reported. The owner was contacted and directed to take vehicles off of the highway until the storm cleared.

A citizen in the Carlyle area received a fraudulent cheque with instructions to cash it and send money to another location. The cheque was immediately brought to the RCMP and the victim didn't lose any money.

There was a disturbance at a residence in the Carlyle area. Some damage had been caused at the residence. The suspect had already left upon arrival of RCMP officers. The suspect was a family member and the victim was not interested in laying charges.

On Jan. 12 a complaint of an assault in Carlyle was reported. No weapons were involved and no injuries resulted; but, it is a matter still under investigation.

There was a complaint regarding the previous evening when a truck slid off of the road and hit a lamp post at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. No charges were laid and road conditions are thought to be a contributing factor.

A call of an abandoned vehicle on Highway 8 near Redvers was reported. Arrangements were made to have it towed off the roadway. There was nothing suspicious about the vehicle.

A complaint was received of a suspect uttering death threats. Charges are pending.

On Jan. 13 a false alarm was responded to at a business in Carlyle. Investigation revealed no break in had occurred and the alarm system is thought to have been faulty.

There was a call to a residence in the Carlyle area for a disturbance. Members spoke with both parties and the matter was resolved. No charges will be laid.

There was a call of a hit and run in Redvers. One vehicle received minor damage while parked on a street. There are no suspects currently.

A 911 call was received from a residence in the Carlyle area. It was investigated and no emergency was found. RCMP was unable to determine who made the call. It was an offence under the 911 Act.

There was a 911 misdial from a residence in Redvers. RCMP checked on the call and the homeowner confirmed there was no emergency.

On Jan. 14 members responded to a false alarm at a business at Kenosee Lake. It was cancelled before RCMP arrived.

A vehicle hit a moose on Highway 13 near Manor. The driver was not injured; but, the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

There was a complaint of a hit and run in Redvers. This vehicle was parked along the street when it was hit and minor damages resulted. There are no suspects at this time.

A call was received concerning an intoxicated person walking along Highway 9 north of Carlyle. RCMP made patrols, but were unable to locate the suspect. No other calls were received about the matter.

On Jan. 15 there was a call of an intoxicated driver in Carlyle. Patrols were made but the suspect vehicle was not located.

An assault in the Carlyle area was reported. The RCMP spoke to the victim who indicated it had taken place the previous night and was consensual. There were no injuries or weapons used and no charges are being pursued.

There was a report of forged cheques being deposited. The victim didn't ask for charges to be laid, but the suspect was spoken to.

A vehicle was identified as displaying an unauthorized plate. RCMP located the registered owner and the plate was turned in. No charges were laid.

On Jan. 16 there was a call received concerning an erratic driver on Highway 9 near Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The RCMP does have a suspect and the matter is still under investigation.

There was a report of an 18-year-old girl going missing from a residence in the Carlyle area. Numerous friends and family assisted RCMP in the search along with a police dog from Regina. Family members were able to locate the missing woman at about 1 a.m. who was safe and unharmed, but taken to hospital to be cleared.

There was a call of a collision on Highway 13 near Carlyle. One vehicle had to be towed away. There were no injuries and it is suspected that road conditions may have been a contributing factor. No charges will be laid.

A complaint in Wawota was received concerning a possible credit card scam through phone calls. The complainant didn't disclose personal information and was not the victim of a crime. Phonebusters were contacted.

On Jan. 17 a call about a semi being driven on Highway 13 with no brake lights was received. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

A 911 hang up call from a business in Redvers was received. RCMP spoke with someone on site and no emergency was in place, it appears to have been a misdial.

A residence in the Carlyle area reported an intoxicated female causing a disturbance and causing damage to the house. The subject was arrested, taken to a cell and held until they were sober, then released. Charges are pending.

Damage to a residence in Redvers was reported. The RCMP investigated and no charges will be laid.

An erratic driver on Highway 13 near Kisbey was reported. They were unable to locate the suspect vehicle during patrols.
