The Red Market Barn has had a wonderful season. Beginning the 2012 season on July 1 and held every Sunday until Sept. 2, it was host to over 50 vendors every weekend. Located north of Kenosee on Highway 9 by five kilometers it often overflows with vehicles needing to park on the highway to see what the buzz is all about.

At $1 for adult admission, $0.50 for children seven to 12, and free for kids six and under it is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon during the summer. People are welcome to peruse the variety of items offered at the Red Market Barn. Everything from antiques, fresh fruit and vegetables, honey, homemade crafts, woodworking, a concession, and live music it was the place to be on Sundays.

Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. they welcomed many throughout the season. Joyce Easton, the lady who welcomes you at the gates, said it has been record crowds this year.

"There's been a steady flow of people today since the doors opened at 10 a.m.," Easton exclaimed.

Last weekend was their final day open this season. With many coming through the gates to see the last Red Market Barn of the season, they were very excited to enjoy the fantastic day.

Listening to K.O. & Friends throughout the day it was an enjoyable time, which made many eager for next year's market to open again.

This season they had many people perform throughout the summer including Susan Shepherd and Ross LeBlanc, Southern Country, and The Old Country Lads. They were happy to host a Kids' Day on Aug. 26 with a variety of activities including bouncers, face painting, treasure boxes, and so much more.

Vendors from across the southeast were present including people from Moosomin, Arcola, Wawota, and even from Regina. The concession stand was manned by the Moose Mountain Air Cadets.

A fantastic summer market says goodbye to the 2012 season, but will be back again next year for all to enjoy once again.
