Regina police have identified and arrested a second individual in connection with a July homicide.

REGINA — After continued investigation, Regina police have arrested a second individual in connection to the city’s eighth homicide, which occurred in mid-July.

Okimaw Russell Night-Fox, 32, of Regina has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Investigation began after police responded to a call on July 16 regarding an injured male on the 800 block of Princess Street, later identified as Jason Bird.

After both police and EMS provided first aid, Bird was transported to hospital where he later passed due to his injuries. Investigation into Bird’s death led police to identify the incident as a homicide.

Police have already arrested and charged Terrance Desnomie, 27, in connection with this case earlier in August.

Night-Fox made his first appearance before provincial court on Wednesday morning.
