REGINA — Regina police were on site at the Superstore on the city’s east side following a report of a possible explosive device on the city’s east side Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., police were dispatched to the department store on the 2000 block of Prince Wales Drive and the public was asked to avoid the area.

Surrounding business and parking lots were evacuated, and both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Victoria Avenue in the area were closed to traffic until about 6 p.m. 

Investigation continues on Prince of Wales Drive, with further details from police expected to be released as they are made public.
