The Weyburn Relay for Life committee are facing a shortage of volunteers to put on their 2012 Relay for Life.

"We are desperately in need of people," said Kathy Woycik, the volunteer committee chair for the Weyburn Relay for Life. "You will not be sorry in coming out, giving of yourself and experiencing the heart-moving event. Come see, learn and experience!"
The 2012 Relay for Life will be held at Crescent Point Place from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 1 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 2. During those 12 hours, there is a need for volunteers for all areas and times during the Relay.

"We also need people to be willing to help on the Relay for Life committee for 2013," said Woycik. Interested residents can contact the Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society office in Weyburn, or drop by the office at 114 Third Street to sign up.

"Without our volunteers, this event to honour our family, friends and everyone who was touched by this terrible disease is very hard to put together," said Woycik. "Relay for Life does not only honour lives, but it becomes a learning experience to healthier living, how you and your family can help succeed in living your lives without cancer."

"We are seeing more and more people fighting cancer due to events like this and the valuable research happening from the donations and time given by our volunteers," added Woycik.

Even a few hours donated would help the Relay for Life committee.

"Who knows, we might encourage you to come out next year with your very own team to experience the complete sensation," said Woycik.
