Many Lions members also participated in other areas by assisting with endeavours that other groups to which they belong where hosting. Local Lions serving the community helped to make the celebration a very successful one from all reports.

December 20th brought the Lions Club members and families together for a pot luck Christmas party at the Carlyle Curling club. What a riotous response when Santa made his bounding entry and called each child up for a gift from the jolly ol' sole. A piñata, prepared by Paulette O'Neill, was beat upon until it exploded and dropped many goodies for the children. The club has a year long fund raiser, the 200 Club which sells only 200 tickets with 11 monthly draws of $100, 1 draw for $500 and the final draw of $1,000 in December. To end the year's 200 Club entries, 10 names were drawn & gradually eliminated to two. Second price of $100 went to Aime Gauthier of Carlyle and Lorraine Pho of Estevan, won the grand prize of $1,000.

Carlyle District Lions would like to take this opportunity to thank, you of the Community for your ongoing support and to wish you the merriest Christmas and healthiest 2012.
