A tentative agreement between the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC and the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union (SGEU) has been ratified.

"I am pleased that we now have a collective agreement in place," said SCIC President and CEO Shawn Jaques. "The hard work and cooperation of both parties is most appreciated."

The agreement covers approximately 450 SCIC employees across the province and extends for years, from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2016. The total monetary package outlined in the agreement provides for seven per cent over four years.

"SCIC's success relies on the expertise and commitment of our employees," Jaques said. "This agreement allows SCIC to remain competitive in the labour market and we look forward to our continued work to serve our customers."

SCIC delivers Crop Insurance, AgriStability and the Wildlife Damage Compensation program to Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers.
