ESTEVAN - The Southeast College, in conjunction with the Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan, has announced the expansion of its early childhood education programs through the Canada-Saskatchewan Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement 2021-2026.

Southeast College has received a funding increase to support the addition of one full-time early childhood education diploma program and two additional part-time programs.

The full-time program will be located at the Estevan campus with two new part-time programs offered in Assiniboia and Indian Head. The funding allows students to obtain the first year of their education free of tuition and book expenses.

“Southeast College is very pleased to receive additional funding to assist with attracting, retaining and growing a strong workforce of early childhood educators,” said Vicky Roy, president and CEO of Southeast College.

“We are very excited to be able to provide flexible learning opportunities such as these for our students, as this allows for our students to be able to still work if they choose and go to school. It’s a win-win opportunity for everyone.”

Applications for the full-time program students will be accepted immediately, with the first year of the program starting in September 2023. For more detailed information, including important application deadlines and information, please visit the college’s website at www.southeastcollege.org.

Part-time courses will be set up for registration on the Southeast College website as soon as the schedule has been finalized.
