Southeast Regional College's Board of Governors have recently announced that Mr. Dion McGrath has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

Mr. McGrath will assume his new position October 1, 2012.

Dion McGrath, currently with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Advanced Education, has been an Executive Director since 2009. With 15 years of experience in the provincial government in multiple and diverse roles, Mr. McGrath combines his knowledge of the province's post secondary system with his experience in economic development.

"Southeast Regional College continues to experience enrolment growth as it evolves to meet the changing needs of learners and the labour market," said Judi Jones, Acting Board Chair. "Mr. McGrath's knowledge, experience and collaborative style are well suited to building momentum and new partnerships, while ensuring learners have access to high quality post-secondary education, and employers have access to skilled workers."

"I am absolutely honored to have this opportunity to be joining the dedicated team at Southeast Regional College. I look forward to making a contribution to the important work the College does serving learners, employers and communities. It is clear to me that the College has both the capacity and the drive to contribute to the province's post secondary system in a time when the significance of education and training has never been greater," commented McGrath.

The College conducted an extensive search for a new President and CEO. McGrath replaces Ms. Jody Holzmiller who has been serving in an interim capacity since November 2011.
