Sun Country Kids Club has recently announced a new Before and After school program. Sun Country Kids Club Inc. kicked off with their very first fundraiser at the Legion Hall on October 15, 2011. The non profit organization had a great turnout due to Weyburn's large community support. The Club will be providing Before and After School childcare, Mobile parks, and Day camps to children ages 5 to 12. The programs offered will promote physical activity, character, self reliance, good sportsmanship, and respect among the other youth.

"We are extremely excited to get our program started, it has been tough at times but thanks to all of our community support we are on our way!" said Shannon Seitz, Sun Country Kids Club's Executive Director. Seitz explained that they will be holding a Pilot Project for Souris and Haig elementary schools. Souris school trial will be held on Tuesdays and Haig will be held on Wednesdays.

The Club will be holding their second fundraiser on March 17. A trade show will be held for families featuring local businesses offering a variety of products and services. There will be over 30 Vendor tables with products such as Scentsy, Body By Vi, Xocai Healthy Dark Chocolate and Juice Plus as well as 50/50 draw for all to participate in. There will be Taco in a bag and beverages for snacktime.

"We are working hard to create a diverse and exciting atmosphere for both our Vendors and Guests. It is exciting to see so many new faces wanting to contribute to the Club. We have all worked so hard to make this program a reality for the community," said Angela Hewitt, Club board member. "Understanding that Weyburn has a definite need for childcare, we are excited to be up and running!"

The fundraiser Trade Show will be held at Knox Hall, located at 136 2nd Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on March 17.
