Saturday, Oct. 20 saw a group of 352 attend Lampman Mosaic, a fundraiser for the rink. The evening held great food, fun, and company as people came together to help raise money to repair the roof of the rink.

Donations from a number of businesses and individuals were displayed for both live and silent auctions. Over 80 items had been donated for the silent auction, while 20 were available in the live auction. Many items kept with the sports theme presented in raising money for the rink including a number of jerseys.

The night was planned by 10 community volunteers who decided to come together in hopes of raising money for the rink. All involved in the fundraiser had a vested interest in the rink whether for themselves, family, or friends.

The idea was based on Regina Mosaic because the group of volunteers was looking for something new to bring to the area.

"We wanted to do something different, Lampman always does Lobster for Life and this was just something different," Leanne Fleck, a Lampman Mosaic committee member, explained.

The evening saw food from around the world enjoyed by all. Greece, France, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and Canada were all represented. Greece and Italy were hosted by Lampman Minor Sports. France was put on by Avalanche and the Oilman's. Mexico was hosted by the Lampman Cougars. Woodley Whites put on the German dining experience, while Belgium was hosted by the Lampman Curling Club. Finally Canada was represented by the Lampman Imperials and the Lions.

The event was held in the school gymnasium with doors opening at 5 p.m. Dinner was then served at 6 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 7:30 p.m. Various kids events were held between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to keep youth entertained.

The event went over very well. Many enjoyed the variety of tastes provided by the various groups. Overall it was a great success. The silent and live auctions combined raised $92,000, while they received over $60,000 in corporate sponsors. Still needing to go over their final receipts to discern an actual total that will go towards the rink, it was an extremely successful event.
