The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure released a message this afternoon regarding the installation of temporary bridges at a number of locations in southeast Saskatchewan that have been affected by high water flows.

As part of its efforts to reopen highways in flood-impacted areas of the region, the Ministry is installing these bridges to provide access to local residents and emergency vehicles. They are not designed or intended to support commercial vehicle traffic, the release noted.

A weight restriction of 20 tonnes gross vehicle weight will be in place on the highways where these bridges are installed and as the roadways reopen.

The Ministry is planning temporary bridges on:

Highway 18 east of Carievale,

Highway 18 east of Carnduff,

Highway 8 south of Highway 361,

the Storthoaks Access of Highway 361,

and Highway 13 east of Redvers.
