The 44th Pioneer Echoes days to be held in Midale

The Souris Valley Antique Association presents their 44th annual Pioneer Echoes days. The fair will be located at the Midale fair grounds and start on Saturday, July 24 and go until Sunday, July 25.

The Souris Valley Antique Association presents their 44th annual Pioneer Echoes days. The fair will be located at the Midale fair grounds and start on Saturday, July 24 and go until Sunday, July 25.At the Midale fair there will be antique equipment in action threshing and in the parade. There will be old gas tractors, gas engines, pioneer homes, school, church and booths on the grounds.There will be Saskatoon pie at the Kittleson House and bread dough frying at the Lindbom house. There will be a hobby and special interest display, and throughout the weekend there will be an antique car show and horse and carriage rides.There will be a pancake breakfast for all on Saturday and Sunday at the Museum downtown from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. On Sunday there will be interdenominational church services starting at 11 a.m. in the Village Church.The Midale Museum on Main Street will be open for visitors. The Museum and Heritage Village has machinery and thousands of small items on display and the museum is one of the best museums in southeast Saskatchewan. At the Midale Heritage Village there are two pioneer houses, a barn, blacksmith shop, church, service station and a country school. Several other buildings store tractors and farm machinery which can be viewed during the Pioneer Echo show on Saturday and Sunday.The Midale Swimming Pool fundraiser will also be held on Saturday, July 24. The carnival will begin at 11 a.m. and go until 5 p.m. At the carnival there will be bouncy tents, carnival games, prize, Richie Roy and a dunk tank. There will be popcorn, cotton candy, One Man and A Grill, a bake sale and a silent auction at the Midale fair.There will be a pig roast super at 6 p.m. with cocktails starting at 5 p.m. The family dance will begin at 9 p.m. and go until 2 a.m.
