Griffin threshing

Wheat sheaves were fed into a 1949 McCormick threshing machine, as Glen Stomp watched from the top of the thresher to ensure everything was working properly, during a threshing bee at his farm at Griffin on Sunday. The thresher was powered by a belt hooked up to a 1937 McCormick-Deering diesel tractor, which was the first diesel farm tractor made. The Stomp family also opened up their saloon, general store and blacksmith shop for visitors to have a look around.
