A severe thunderstorm warning has ended for the Estevan area.

ESTEVAN - Environment Canada issued two thunderstorm warnings in the southeast on Wednesday.

The agency said its meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing  up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.

The first warning was just after 12 p.m. and was lifted about an hour later. The second one came into effect just before 2 p.m. and was cancelled at 3:18 p.m.

"Slow-moving, severe thunderstorms producing heavy rain have redeveloped over the Estevan area," the agency said for the second advisory.

Estevan was hit by a brief but strong thunderstorm on Tuesday. That system resulted in a severe thunderstorm warning for the Bienfait area.

Additional thunderstorms are in the forecast over the next few days.
