Vandals shoot vehicles with pellet guns, young offenders cause mischief

*On July 20, police stopped a motorcyclist after driving actions indicated a possible impaired driver. A 37 year old Regina male was subsequently arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will be making his first court appearance in August.

*On July 19, police received a complaint of a window being broken by someone who had thrown a rock through a front window of a residence in the northeast area of the City. The incident remains under investigation.

*Police received a complaint of a window being damaged on a camper trailer in the River Park Campground. It appeared that the window had been damaged by a pellet gun. The matter remains under investigation.

*Police responded to a mischief report downtown. The investigation revealed that a window had been smashed out of a parked truck, causing a large amount of damage to the vehicle. A 35-year-old male has been charged with mischief and will be appearing in court in August.

*On July 18, police received a complaint of three vehicles being damaged overnight. It appears the windows on these parked vehicles were damaged with a pellet gun. The investigation into this matter continues.

*On July 17, police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Grace Street and Highway #39. Damage was minor and there were no injuries.

*On July 16, police assisted the Weyburn Fire Department with traffic control in the 300 block Mergens Street where a fire had broken out in a garage. There were no injuries.

*On July 15, police responded to a complaint of a male causing a disturbance at a residence in the northeast area of Weyburn. The individual was located and arrested for breach of the peace and was released from custody later in the day.

*Police located an intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance near a downtown bar. The 21 year old male was arrested and lodged in cells and released when sober.

*As a result of an ongoing investigation, a second person was charged with mischief in regard to an incident from July 2nd. A female young offender was charged with mischief and appeared in court on July 17.

*Patrolling officers observed a 16-year-old female in the area of the hospital who was very intoxicated. The subsequent investigation revealed the young offender was breaching her court ordered conditions and she was arrested and charged with breach. She appeared in court on July 17.
